New York golosa e trendy a tavola

New York golosa e trendy a tavola

The engagement ring - Part II

If you purchase a ring with a new diamond of one carat or larger from a reputable jeweler, it will come with a grading report from the gemological Institute  which lists the diamond's carat size, as well its color and clarity rankings.(Some jewelers such as Tiffany &and Co. issue their own reports), you should know that these reports are expert opinions, non actual guarantees, of the gem's quality, howeever, they do offer some measure of consumer protection.

Of course, there's nothing that says you have to wear an engagement ring at all. Though the wedding ring's origins - and the evolution of its meaning as a symbol of commitment rather than a claim of ownership - are debatable, it probably dates back millennia: in ancient Rome brides wore bands of iron on their fingers. Rings worn to signify both engagemente and marriage have been popular since the Middle Ages, which is when styles showcasing diamonds became popular. it was only in the 18th century that the combination of an engagement and wedding ring became costumary. If you decide to go with two rings, you may pick a traditionally matched set, either plain metal or set with stones, though these days many brides like to combine different styles for a more casual, electric look. With bands, too, you can opt for something showy or a style that's very simple.
It may not be as flashy as some rings and it doesn't cost the traditional two month's salary, but it serves what is, after all, the purpose of a wedding ring: to be a constant reminder of a spouse's constant love, and you can't put a price on that!

The engagement ring - Part I

Not many women can claim the very first object they ever laid eyes on was a dazzling diamond, but plenty will agree with Ms. Tylor that the allure of a diamond engagement ring is hard to resist,m weather you're 8 days old or 32 years. Wih a band mere millimeters wide and stone roughly three billion years old, this ring possesses a powerful symbolism, evoking not only the eternity of true love but also the fire and intensity of true passion.
Your engagement and wedding rongs are the tokens of true commitment that touch you-litterally-every day of your life. Add the fact that a diamond engagement ring usually represents one of the most expensive items an engaded couple will buy, and this emblem of security can cause quite a bit of anxiety. Even a star used to wearing millions of dollars worth of borrowed jewels for the night can be rattled by an impeccable piece of glittering crystalline carbon resting on her ring finger.
Though there are exacting standards that measure how flawless a diamond really is, when it comes to a diamond ring it's as hard to pinpoint perfection as it is to capture the light that bounces off its many facets.
For some women perfection in a ring has as much to do with its style as it does with the gem it holds. Audrey Hepburn's ring was as slim and understatedly elegant as she was: an eternity band channel-set with diamond baguettes.
For other brides to be it's the shape of the stone that appeals. Of course for some women, size trumps all. When Prince Charles proposed to Diana Spencer over an intimate dinner at Buckingham Palace, she was shown a tray of rings from British crown jeweler Garrard. She settled on an 18-carat oval sapphire surrounded by diamonds, sparking an instant trend for sapphire engagement rings. When asked why she picked that particular ring, she reportedly said, "Because it was the biggest". Now that ring it's Kate's Middleton...
While men often still surprise their girlfriends, and heirloom rings are still passed down from generation to generation, these days a ring usually involves a shopping expedition that's often undertaken together. Whatever guides your choice, you or your fiancé should learn a few basics before buying. The four c's represent the basic guidelines: carat, clarity, cut and color-all of which affect the price of a diamond greatly. You're advised to consult with a reputable jeweler, though depending on the style of ring you're looking for, you may also want to visit antiques stores, estate sales and auction houses.
..... to be continued ...
Have a good night!
